The Grumpy One and Grumpy Too Show
The Grumpy One and Grumpy Too Show is a multi-sensory, multimedia experience to stimulate memory and imagination with senior citizens. Grumpy One ( Russ Taylor) and Grumpy Too ( Paul Rogers) conduct a live, interactive "Sentimental Journey" for seniors through vintage pictures and film clips, familiar sing-a-longs, engaging activities and positive, hopeful energy. As retired teachers, we believe that all people continue to love to learn and interact, regardless of age. Our carefully chosen videos, slide shows, sing-a-longs, games and sensory activities aim to awaken collective and personal memory pathways through entertainment and whimsy. We call it "Eldertainment".
The Grumpy One and Grumpy Too Show is a one-hour live , interactive performance. Our intended audience is "very, very mature" residents or participants at skilled care/assisted living facilities, senior centers, adult day services, or any senior-oriented events or activities. Our show is designed to activate memories and imagination through sights, sounds, songs, scents, movement and feelings.
Grumpy One and Grumpy Too prefer to perform our show with staff, volunteers, friends and family members present to assist senior participants with activities and encourage engagement. We also like to coordinate the show with existing events and activities at a facility featuring snacks or party food. We enjoy sharing food and stories with our audience after the show.
We believe that everyone's life is a story worth honoring and remembering, and we encourage our audience to share their memories and experiences with a trusted "playmate".
